Before you start posting search through different blogs related to that area you have chosen and see what others are writing about and how popular their blog is by looking at the comments.

Then start posting. Once you have posted a few things about yourself and your interests go out to the other blogs that are similar to yours and introduce yourself to them. This will help to build a relationship amongst that group of people and also help to start bringing traffic to your blog.

Work on that for a week or so posting about once a day and then we will move on to the next step.
